My Style

I’m always wildly impressed when I see photorealistic art. When I see the finished art side by side with the original photo, I can’t help but be wowed by the skill of the artist. But when it comes to my own art, I can’t feel any desire to spend my time trying to reproduce a photograph. While I’m trying to get a likeness and personality, beautiful tones and a certain impression, it never occurs to me to try and replicate the printed image. When I wondered about this, it seemed tedious to try to copy every minuscule detail instead of trying to create an image of unique artistic beauty. So, I guess that’s why I’ll never do photorealism, despite the fact that it overawes me completely.
